Strategic Moves was Founded in 2001 by Steve Setzer, a retired U.S. Marine Corps pilot who transitioned to corporate aviation after his military career. While flying the Pilatus PC-12 for a private company,
Steve quickly came to appreciate the capabilities and economy of the airplane.
As the PC-12 grew in popularity after its debut in 1994, he saw a need developing for specialized aircraft management services. The basic idea was to make it easier for companies or individuals to purchase, own, and operate a PC-12.
During his final tour in the Marines, Steve flew the Presidential Helicopter, Marine One, supporting the White House and President Clinton. Steve's duties also included supervising the maintenance performed on the aircraft, and he was one of only a few pilots authorized to certify the Presidents' helicopter as safe for flight after a maintenance evolution. While at the Presidential squadron he learned that no detail was too small and he refined his ability to provide support to VIP’s.
